Petrified Forest and Painted Desert

This was a side trip on our way back east. I'm glad we sacrificed the hour it cost us to see this historic place.

This place was a rainforest millions of years ago. How amazing!

I'm happy to report that Darwin is the only one of us who pooped in the Petrified Forest! Don't worry his human minders picked his mess up.
