San Francisco & Sausalito, California — Our Brief Stay on Earth

The San Francisco RV park where we are staying at is right on the Pacific Ocean, located right outside San Fran in the town of Pacifica. From the RV park we were able to whale watch in the morning. You can't beat that!

While in San Fran we visited the famed Pier 39. There were many resturants to choose from and lots of stores and kid friendly attractions.

We took a short walk down to The Dungeons of San Francisco, an interactive theatre about the gruesome history of the city. It was great fun and I highly recommend it if you visit the city. We had a late night snack at Boudin bakery cafe after the dungeon.

We drove around the city thru Presidio park and Golden gate park. We stopped at overlook turnouts to take in the views.

We went over the Golden Gate Bridge to the darling town of Sausalito. It has a population of just over 7000 but seems to enjoy healthy tourism. You can catch a ferry from Pier 39 to go there too.

San Fransisco was a fun town to visit but I seem to judge towns on whether or not I'd be willing to live there or not. I would not live in San Fransisco.

We enjoy visiting big cities for a couple days but but very much prefer the National and state parks. Mother Nature rules!!!

I think Chicago stole the "wind city" name, it should have been given to San Fransisco instead. Between the wind and fog I'd become miserable here pretty quickly.

We loved Sasualito with it small town sea side charm.

Tomorrow morning we're heading out along the Pacific coast highway towards Malibu.

Tony Bennett may have left his heart in San Francisco, but I left my heart in Bend Oregon... And maybe a little in Santa Fe!
